Why Choose CF30 PEEK for Critical Applications?

Enhanced Rigidity

30% glass fiber reinforcement significantly increases the flexural modulus, making it 2x stiffer than unfilled PEEK.

Thermal Stability

Excellent dimensional stability under high temperature, with a much lower coefficient of thermal expansion (CLTE).

Chemical Resistance

Maintains superior resistance to harsh chemicals, steam, and hydrolysis, ideal for demanding industrial environments.

Limitations of GF30 PEEK

While GF30 PEEK offers superior strength and stiffness, please note the following technical characteristics for your design:

  • Lower toughness: Compared to virgin PEEK, the addition of glass fiber reduces impact resistance (more brittle).
  • Abrasive nature: The glass fibers can be abrasive to softer mating surfaces during operation.
  • Wear applications: Due to its abrasive properties, it is not the ideal choice for high-speed dynamic bearing or wear-contact surfaces (we recommend Bearing Grade PEEK for those).

FAQs

GF30 PEEK is a 30% glass fiber reinforced PEEK grade designed to improve stiffness, dimensional stability, and heat resistance compared with unfilled PEEK.
GF30 PEEK offers very high stiffness and dimensional stability while remaining electrically insulating. CF30 PEEK provides even higher stiffness and creep resistance, but it is conductive and often preferred for aerospace or semiconductor fixtures.
It depends on the application. GF30 PEEK is better for structural parts under high load and temperature, while Virgin PEEK is better when higher toughness, purity, or impact resistance is required.
In many cases, no. Because glass fibers can be abrasive to mating surfaces, bearing grade PEEK is usually a better choice for low-friction and wear applications.
GF30 PEEK is commonly available as sheets, rods, tubes, and custom machined parts depending on the application and dimensional requirements.
GF30 PEEK is widely used in industrial, electrical, automotive, semiconductor, and fluid-handling applications that require high stiffness and heat resistance.
